Ryan Conklin has a new song coming out, and he can't wait to tell people about it. In a teaser video clip from Iraq, Ryan tells his faithful fans that a new tune by him will soon be added to the Conklin songbook. He has completed the song and will make it available to the public sometime before the the end of October, 2009. What makes it really special though is that Ryan has produced a video to go with the song. He's made performance videos before, but this one appears to be something bigger. The details of the video and the song are being kept under wraps by Ryan until he does the big reveal, but he promises fans that it is "freaking awesome" and they are really going to enjoy it.
In his announcement clip, Ryan makes a point of stating that he made the video specially for his fans and it was exciting for him to make it. He's very proud of how it turned out and just couldn't wait to tell people about it. He said he made the clip to hype the video (even though he should know that his fans will flock to YT as soon as it hits the internet and will then proceed to watch it hundreds of times).
The thing that Ryan enjoys most about the song/video is that it may be a bit of a surprise and keeping people guessing about it is just what he wants to have happen. He gleefully anticipates the curiosity. He knows people will wonder, what's it about? What does it sound like? Did he even deploy with a guitar? How could you make a new song?
The answer on the guitar was that, no, he did not bring a guitar or any instrument with him to Iraq. And that is the only answer he will give at this time. He did give one more hint, that his "mouth" may be the source of the music, presumably going beyond just the vocals. Ryan hopes that his hints will leave people scratching their heads in wonder, eagerly awaiting the answers to the mystery.
In any event, it is definitely exciting to have a new song to add to the all-Ryan, all-the-time, music playlist.
