One night at the The Real World Brooklyn house, Ryan Conklin went to his room to change pants. He was talking to Katelynn Cusanelli at the time. He proceeded to take off his pants off in front of the window between his room and the hall, on the other side of which was Katelynn. Seeing Ryan in his tight t-shirt and boxers, she asked Ryan not to tease her so provocatively. Ryan replied, "I don't." However, realizing his natural animal magnetism he followed with, "I don't intentionally..." Then to make sure his actual intentions were made clear, he told Katelynn that, unfortunately, she was not his type.Katelynn asked Ryan if the lack of attraction was due to her personality or the fact that she used to have a penis. Bringing up the latter inevitably opened up the discussion again about her surgery. Chet Cannon, who was also in the room, expressed the question that was first in his mind, which was "Why didn't you save the penis?" Katelynn logically responded that a) she needed it as donor material, and b) her one time penis is classified as a bio-hazard and cannot legally be allowed to move around.
Disappointed that he would miss another opportunity to examine someone else's penis, Chet exclaimed, "I want to see it!" Ryan chided Chet once again about his proclivities: "That's disgusting! Look at your own penis!"
Not understanding exactly what kind of thing Chet wanted to see, Katelynn charitably started to open her pants to allow for a teaching moment, but Chet adamantly told her that what she has now is not what he wanted to see. Ryan, on the other hand, seeing Katelynn start to unbuckle her belt merely shrieked at the prospect.
The conversation turned to matching Katelynn up with any of the boys in the house. Chet asked her specifically about Scott Herman, and while obviously salivating, asked her whether she had ever dreamed about Scott n@ked. She said Scott and she were just friends. Chet then asked if she had ever dreamed about any of the guys in the house. She looked guiltily towards Ryan and then after a long pause, said no. Chet realized quickly that she was indicating that she had also dreamed about Ryan in that way. Ryan, not really wanting to think about it, made a face (consistent with the way he saw Katelynn as a brother/sister).
Katelynn did confess to Ryan that when they first moved into the house that she thought that Ryan was her type. Ryan retorted that she was not his type because, as he teasingly said, "I like girls that were born girls." Ryan found that that line was much more convenient that the usual boys' line of "I'm not into seeing someone right now," or "let's just be friends."
