This unusual salute from Ryan to beef and pork products started when he answered the phone at the Brooklyn house and began talking to Lindsay, who was calling to talk to her friend Baya. Baya wasn't there, so Ryan, wanting to get to know Baya's friends better, chatted with her for awhile. He asked Lindsay how she knew Baya and Lindsay said that she worked with Baya at a cafe in Salt Lake City.
Perhaps emboldened from all the beef he says he loves to eat, Ryan resolutely talked to Lindsay rather cocksure just like he knew her. He asked what was the best sandwich at the cafe and Lindsay replied it was probably the veggie burger. Ryan sneered at the mention of it and asked her if she was a vegetarian like Baya. She said she was and Ryan told her with disdain, "It's so hip to be vegetarian I guess these days." Then he clarified matter-of-factly, "Not really."
It was at that point he launched into his meat ode.
He then strongly advised Lindsay to convert to carnivorism. He gibed, "It's not hip to be vegetarian."
Lindsay seemed to be buying it as Ryan has a way of convincing people to listen to him.
In summary: Ryan. Meat. I'm feeling a little flushed.
